My name is Martin Lye and I am a motion artist and designer based in South East London. Since graduating from The Royal College Of Art in 2005, I have worked on a wide range of projects, using many different techniques. Below is a selection of recent work and my latest showreel.

A film about ocean literacy, asking for the word ocean to be used as a singular noun in all communication.

A film for Educate Against Hate to help teachers discuss sensitive subjects such as extremism, radicalisation and terrorism in class.

Animated film, introducing the new T Level qualification, coming in 2020.

A film made for HM Prison and Probation Service, encouraging prisoners to speak out about radicalisation.

Pitch work for Mayor of london. These illustrations were my contribution to the 'No more big smoke' presentation.

Print and digital work, made between 2015 and 2016.

I created all illustrations for the website, working closely with the art director and web developer to make a fun and engaging website.

I worked on the compositing of this image, creating the shadow and merging it with the photography.

Two adverts I created for the now-defunct lender, Wonga. I animated both films and designed all assets except the characters.

I created a short film for the launch of the vinyl custom 'Jinny'.

To commemorate the launch of GameCity Squared and the 25th anniversary of Elite, I worked with Ian Gouldstone to produce a hyper-minimal selection of well-known games, re-imagined in 15-pixels. The Street fighter 2 viral achieved 100,000+ hits in 2 days!

A selection of work created for Nickelodeon, from 2008 - 2010.

An animated film for Oxfam, tackling climate change. Created by Ian Gouldstone, I assisted with design and additional animation. The film travelled the world, playing at many festivals and events, debuting at Glastonbury 2009 after a set by the great Spinal Tap.

Titles for the third series of the ITV show. This was my first commissioned directing job, since graduating from Royal College of Art.
